The term 'DNA ' as it applies to the area of basic science can be defined as '(Deoxyribonucleic acid) double strand of nucleotides that is a self-replicating molecule present in living organisms as the main constituent of chromosomes; contains the genetic code and transmits the heredity pattern'.

The term 'DNA ' as it applies to the area of nanotechnology can be defined as ' the double-helix molecule that provides the basis of genetic heredity, about 2 nanometers in diameter but often several millimeters in length'.

The term 'DNA ' as it applies to the area of agriculture can be defined as ' Deoxyribonucleic acid'.
